Starcom: A Culture Built on Care, Consistency and Bravery

Being recognised on Campaign UK Best Places to Work and The Sunday Times Best Places to Work lists is an honour. At Starcom, culture is made up from the day-to-day experiences of our team: how we treat each other, how we lead, how we learn, and how we create space for people to do their best work for our brilliant clients. 

As explored in our winner’s write up from Campaign UK, our culture is guided by three principles: care, consistency and bravery, and they shape how we show up for each other. But what does this mean in practice? 

Care: People first, always 

Care is our foundation. It’s how we build a workplace where leaders listen, teams support one another, and people feel comfortable asking questions, seeking feedback, and learning fast. It’s also reflected in the people-first ways we support life and growth at Starcom, through hybrid working, the chance to work abroad for part of the year via Publicis Groupe’s “Work Your World” initiative, and a development culture shaped by mentoring, programmes like “Empowering Women”. We believe great work comes from people who feel trusted and understood, not just managed.

Consistency: Clarity that builds trust 

Consistency is how we earn trust. We focus on clear expectations, timely feedback, and the structure people need to grow. When “what good looks like” is clear, teams can spend less time second-guessing and more time delivering impact together. 

Bravery: Making space for bold thinking 

Bravery keeps us moving forward. It’s the confidence to challenge assumptions, test new approaches, and keep learning, especially as our industry evolves. That mindset is also built into our working environment. Within our newly launched Partner Playground, we’ve created bold, interactive spaces across our office that are dedicated to media owners who we work alongside daily.  

These spaces are bespoke designed to spark imagination, encourage teams to explore new thinking, and open deeper conversations.  

Growth that’s designed, not left to chance 

Our strong culture includes visible development. We invest in learning, mentoring and structured programmes so people can build capability for today and momentum for what’s next, supported by regular career conversations that keep growth active and achievable. 

Coming together: Starcom, In Session 

Culture is also about connection. This year we hosted our first-ever “Starcom, In Session” day, bringing the UK team together for inspiring talks, collaborative workshops and team activities with a focus on innovation and inclusion. It created real energy and shared momentum, setting us up strongly for the rest of 2026, and sparked fresh thinking through insights from industry leaders.
